Talygarn NVQ Training
The NVQ is a working qualification. The course consists of theory, practical and riding sessions and follows a scheme of work which covers both the BHS and NVQ syllabus throughout the year. NVQ assessments are not like BHS examinations. They take place at the yard or centre where training normally occurs at a time agreed by the candidate and assessor, covering "units" such as tacking up, rugging horses, flatwork or jumping fences (riding is optional). If the candidate does not reach the standard then this becomes a training session as opposed to a fail and the assessment can take place again at a later date. The standard is one for the industry and candidates must show they can perform tasks competently and in industry time on a regular basis.
